“We came to worship a King, the angels told of His birth in Bethlehem,
While we were guarding out sheep, the angels filled the sky!
‘Don’t be afraid’ they said, ‘Such joyful news we bring,
For unto you is born this day the long awaited Saviour, Christ the Lord.’
We come to worship our King, behold Him now in a manger lowly and mean,
Glory to God in the highest heaven Messiah now has come!
We came to worship the King, we’ve travelled long from afar to Bethlehem,
For years we’ve studied the stars, we knew a King had come.
And royal tributes we bring for prophet, priest and king,
For unto us is born this day the long awaited Saviour, Christ the Lord.
We came to worship the King. Though small his life is endangered by Herod the King,
Glory to God in the highest heaven Messiah now has come!”
